March Movie Madness & Mayhem (Day 18!)–Queen of Outer Space (1958)

via Queen of Outer Space – 1958 – 80 Minutes

Ah, Queen of Outer Space! Not only does it have a degree of Stoogeration (director Edward Bernds), it also has the late, great Zsa Zsa Gabor as said Queen! I’ve seen this movie many moons ago (about the same time as that other great Gabor film Picture Mommy Dead). This one involves the usual “Women Iz Useless Unless Men Around” trope that seemed to be so popular back in the day. Of course, you wonder how there are women of varying ages (but not TOO old, of course!)

Anyhoo, take a look around the B-Movie Graveyard…it’s quite a site!

This, as well as Andrew Borntreger’s badmovies.org (I’ll do an entry on that site too, trust me!) are my go-to sites for bad movie dissection. I love Jabootu because of Mr. Begg’s long-windedness (that’s a plus!) as well as his historical input–you want to know WHY Doris Wishman’s movies are so terrible? You’ll get some history here! You want to know why “Jungle Hell” is so terrible? Oh, you’ll find out!

I have seen this movie–or some movie just like it, 30+ years ago after the Stooges and Bizarre had gone off for the night. I believe this was double billed with “Picture Mommy Dead,” but it may have been a rare TRIPLE bill, because I also remember it being around Easter 1985, and “Billy the Kid vs. Dracula” playing around the same time. Oh, how I miss the olden days of KPLR and their late-night line up! Between (the then) KMOX-TV’s Bijou and The Late Show, and KDNL’s All Night at the Movies (I think?), you had your fill of bad movie goodness!

I miss the 80s…they weren’t as good as I remember the 70s being, but then again, I don’t really remember much of the 70s…

Trump vs Trump II

This Donald Trump guy is a real character, alright!

Okay, I said that I was going to overhaul sixdegreesofstoogeration and turn it into a (sort of) B-movie review site (I know, ANOTHER ONE!), but then I saw this on Something Awful, and it made me laugh.

I’m sure I can connect Donald Trump to the Three Stooges…just give me a moment.

Okay…DONE!

  • In 1989, Trump had a cameo in a “movie” titled “Ghosts Can’t Do It.”
  • Said movie also starred one Julie Newmar.
  • Ms. Newmar was in some show called “Batman.”
  • The star of that show, Adam West, also starred in the Three Stooges’ last (released) feature, “The Outlaws IS Coming!” (1965)

(Why, yes, I can connect the Stooges to most anything–why do you ask?)
